The Cycle of Blessings

As part of this ritual cycle, the five of us Jicareros and others in our medicine group pilgrimage to the sacred desert. The pilgrimage begins at the Fiesta in September when the Tuki is honored and offerings are prepared. We will the offerings prepared at the September Fiesta to the site that is recognized as the birthplace of the gods and of the Wixárika (Huichol) tradition. We will ask the gods for blessings to bring back to the people. In this way, we have completed a process that honors the Tuki and the gods in a way that connects us to the very beginning of creation.
